Find the items that cost too little or too much for what they do
When a shop has dozens of items it is hard to see which ones are a bargain and which are a rip-off. Drawing the line that the prices roughly follow shows the ones that sit far off it, so you only have to look at those.
Why this works
If a price is fair, more cost should buy more strength at a steady rate, so a line through all items shows the usual deal. What sits far from that line is the odd one, and spotting it needs no opinion, only the distance.
When not to use it
Skip it when items do very different jobs, so that their strength cannot be put on one scale, or when the price is meant to stand for rarity or looks. Then compare items within the same job, or judge by playing with them.
