How many players are online at the same time, and when is the busiest moment?
Your server list shows who is online now, but not how busy it got yesterday evening. This entry shows how to turn start and end times of play sessions into the busiest moment and the average load, without counting people twice at the handover.
Why this works
How many people are in the game at once changes only when someone arrives or leaves, so going through those moments in order gives the exact maximum. A session that ends just as another begins did not overlap, so the order at that second matters.
When not to use it
It cannot be trusted when sessions have no reliable end, as with crashes or closed browser tabs, or when a person has several windows open. Fix how sessions end first, otherwise the peak reflects the logging, not the players.
