The average delay looks fine, but players still complain about lag
An average can be perfect while one in twenty moments is awful, and that is the moment players remember. This entry shows which figures to report per region, and what to do with the failed measurements that otherwise spoil everything.
Why this works
Players remember the worst moments, not the typical ones. A single average hides rare bad stretches, while the bad end of the range shows what one moment in twenty feels like. Failed measurements are a different kind of fact and must not be mixed into the speed figures.
When not to use it
Skip it when you have only a handful of measurements per region: the bad end is then just the single worst reading and says little. Collect more first, or read the raw list. It is also pointless for slow games where timing does not matter, such as card or puzzle games.
