Settle who answers when a character asks the whole party a question
The ferryman asks if you pay or fight, and four people say four things. Here is how to turn the party's votes into one answer, what a tie falls back on, and what happens if too few people answer in time.
Why this works
A group has to speak with one voice, but nobody should feel overruled by luck or by someone absent. Counting only those present, asking for a minimum turnout and settling ties by a fixed rule gives an answer that anyone can retrace and agree to.
When not to use it
Skip it when the choice truly belongs to one person, such as a private deal or a decision about one's own character. Also skip it for high-stakes choices that should need everyone's agreement, not a plurality.
