How long do players wait for a match before they cancel the search?
One overall cancel percentage hides the moment patience runs out. This entry shows how to read the waiting data so that people still searching, and people who were matched early, are not mistaken for people who stayed patient.
Why this works
Whoever is matched quickly leaves the waiting crowd, so the people still there after a while are the patient ones. Asking how many gave up among those who had already waited that long shows exactly when patience runs out, which is the moment you can act on.
When not to use it
It is of little use when so few people search that every slice holds a handful, or when the wait cannot be seen by the player. Then count searches over a longer period, or simply watch how long the queue stays empty at each hour.
