Load a game saved mid-scene without giving the rewards twice

Autosave can fire between two beats of a long scene, and when the game loads it must pick the story up at a sensible place without handing out the same gift again or dropping one that was never given. Here is how to rebuild the scene correctly from a save.

Why this works

A save stores where you were, not everything the earlier steps did to the world. Going back to a safe starting point and replaying quietly rebuilds the world faithfully, while rewards are tracked by what was paid, not by place.

When not to use it

Skip it when scenes are short or can be saved only between them, which is simpler and gives no odd cases. Or if the whole world is stored at every moment, replaying adds nothing; just load what was saved.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "Load a game saved mid-scene without giving the rewards twice" (read_entry load-save-in-the-middle-of-a-scene) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.
