Catch lines that sound wrong for the character who says them
Three chapters in, the stern old general starts saying "no worries" and the street kid speaks like a lawyer. Here is a small voice sheet per character and a check that flags the lines that break it, including the matches a plain search would get wrong.
Why this works
An AI writing many characters slides toward one average voice, and a drift you only feel is hard to fix. A few hard rules about words and sentence length turn the feeling into a list of lines you can point at, so the fix is a rewrite, not a debate.
When not to use it
Skip it when a character is meant to be unpredictable, changing, or to break their own habits for a reason. Fixed rules would flag the very moments you want. Judge those lines by reading them against the scene.
