Spielerando

A bounce pad that flings players, animals and items once per visit

A pad that launches whatever touches it works fine until a mob stands on it, an item rolls over it twice or someone drops back onto it mid-flight and is shot again and again. Here is how to remember who was already launched, when to arm the pad again for them, and how hard to throw.

Why this works

A pad cannot tell a new visit from a continuing one, so it needs a memory of who was already thrown. Rearming only after that body has been on solid ground elsewhere ties the memory to what a person would call another visit.

When not to use it

Do not use it when the pad should keep working while something stands on it, such as a trampoline for bouncing again and again. Then launch on a timer instead, so each bounce is one deliberate beat.
