Spielerando

Let a dropped inventory item fly to the slot it was thrown toward

Players let go of an item while their hand is still moving, and the nearest slot to the cursor is often not the one they meant. Here is how to read the flick, pick a sensible free slot, send the item back when nothing fits, and avoid wild jumps across the bag.

Why this works

A flick says where the hand meant the item to go, not just where it let go. Guessing where it would glide to, and capping that guess, honours the gesture without letting a wild swipe send it across the whole bag.

When not to use it

Not on a small touch screen with tiny slots or when precision matters, such as a hotbar for fast fights. A guess can land beside the slot you meant, so use plain tap-to-pick and tap-to-place there.
