Work out the fewest playthroughs that visit every path of a branching story

A branching story has a few choices that multiply into more routes than anybody can play to test it. Here is how your AI counts the total routes and finds a short list of playthroughs that together walk every connection at least once, so testing stays small and complete.

Why this works

Choices multiply, but the connections between scenes only add up. A test needs to cross every connection once, not walk every route, so each new playthrough should be the one that crosses the most connections not yet seen.

When not to use it

Skip it when the story remembers what happened, so the same scene differs by earlier choices. Crossing each connection once then misses bugs that only show in certain combinations; test those combinations by hand, or for a story with returning loops, limit the repeats first.
