Find a shortcut that lets players skip a scene the story depends on

Platformers reward clever routes, and a good one lets the player reach the boss without ever talking to the mentor who hands over the key fact. The story then plays on as if they had. Here is how your AI searches for ways around a scene and shows the exact route and the shortcut that opens it.

Why this works

A story is only as strong as the routes the player can really take. Asking whether a scene can be reached while forbidding one particular scene turns a vague worry about clever players into a yes or no with a route that shows it.

When not to use it

Skip it for tricks that cross walls through physics, such as odd jumps or glitches: a map of scenes cannot see them. Playtest those, and where a skipped fact is harmless, let the later scene give a short substitute instead of closing the way.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "Find a shortcut that lets players skip a scene the story depends on" (read_entry shortcut-skips-story-prerequisite) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.
