Make a fishing float twitch with small nibbles and then plunge on the real bite

Waiting for a fish should have tension: tiny dips that fade, another tug, and then the big one. Each tug has to ripple out and calm down on its own while the next one adds on top. This shows how to build it so it looks the same at any speed of play.

Why this works

A float in water bobs and settles by itself, and several tugs simply pile up. Treating each tug as its own small ripple and adding them together means you can ask for the float's height at any moment, so speed of play changes nothing.

When not to use it

Skip it when the float is far away or tiny on screen, or when the bite is decided by a skill test only. A plain dip with a sound is enough there; the whole ripple show adds work nobody will notice.
