Keep a turn-based team game moving when someone is gone or asleep

In a game where players act one after another, a single disconnected or distracted player can freeze everyone for good. Skipping them sounds easy, but the round counter, the returning player and the case of only one person left each need a clear rule. Here is the order that never gets stuck.

Why this works

A turn order exists to keep the game moving, so no single person may be able to hold it. Walking on to the next player who is there, while keeping everyone's place in the order, protects the flow without taking anything from the one who is away.

When not to use it

Skip it in a game where a missing player's turn really matters to everyone, such as a trade or a vote that needs every voice. There pause the game and wait, or let the group agree to carry on without them.
