Open a shared world save from an older version without losing anyone
After an update, the world your friends built last week must still open. Saves written by older versions have a different shape, and a broken or hand-edited file can hold impossible values. Here is a loader that upgrades old files step by step, repairs what it safely can and refuses what it must not guess.
Why this works
A saved world is a promise to the people who built it. Upgrading one version at a time keeps each step small, and writing down every repair means nothing is changed in silence, so a problem can be traced to where it began.
When not to use it
Skip the repairs when a damaged file may hold something you cannot guess, such as a world that costs real money: refuse it and keep the original untouched instead. Also skip all this for a game whose saves never need to outlive an update.
