Spielerando

Catch a character who is in two places at the same time

The innkeeper serves you at noon and also stands at the castle gate at noon, because two quests were written weeks apart. Here is the check that takes travel time into account, not only the clock, and names the two events in conflict.

Why this works

Time alone does not decide whether someone can be somewhere. The road between two places takes time too, so what counts is the gap between leaving and arriving. Comparing each appearance with the latest finished one catches long events hiding later conflicts.

When not to use it

Skip it when characters may travel by magic, twins play the role, or the story never states times at all. Then give those cases their own travel rule, such as zero time or a second person, rather than switching the check off for everyone.
