Stop a hub conversation from repeating the same lines
Players return to the same person again and again, and either hear the same speech or find an empty menu with no way out. This entry gives the rule for which topics to offer, when to close a topic, and what to show when nothing is left.
Why this works
A conversation feels alive when it remembers. Offering only what is new and unlocked, closing topics that are done, and never leaving the menu empty respects the player's time and always leaves a way out, so the person never thinks the game has frozen.
When not to use it
Skip it for a single short exchange with no coming back, or where repetition is the point, such as a shopkeeper whose greeting never changes or a puzzle that asks the same question. Keep those lines repeatable on purpose and do not hide them.
