Flip a card so the face changes at the edge, even if the player flips back mid-turn
Memory and card games live on the flip. The picture must change at the exact moment the card is edge-on, and if the player taps again in the middle, the card should turn back from where it is, not start over or finish first. Here is a flip driven by its angle that handles all of this.
Why this works
A flip is just a turn, so the card needs to know only how far it has turned. When everything shown comes from that one amount, a tap in the middle simply reverses the turn, and the picture changes at the edge on its own.
When not to use it
Do not allow reversing when a flip carries a cost or a consequence, such as a turn that counts as a move. A take-back then lets players peek for free. Lock the card until the flip is finished.
