Spin a prize wheel so it ends on the prize that was already decided
In many games the result of a spin is decided first, and the wheel must then act it out convincingly. Stopping at a random angle and reading what is under the pointer risks the wrong prize and a pointer sitting on a line. Here is how to work backwards from the prize to the angle, and always spin forward.
Why this works
Players trust a wheel that looks like chance, but the prize is settled before it turns. Working backwards from the prize to where it must stop, and only ever turning forward, makes the show agree with the result.
When not to use it
Do not stage a spin when the odds are part of the appeal or are regulated, such as paid prizes. A decided result dressed as chance can mislead. Show the real odds, or let the spin itself decide.
