Let the counter rise as each flying coin lands, not all at once at the start

Coins that fly up to the counter while the number has already jumped look fake. The number should grow with every landing. This sounds easy, but it must also stay right when the player spends money while coins are still on their way, and it must end on the exact true value. Here is a way to keep picture and value together.

Why this works

What the player sees should follow what the player saw happen. Letting the number rise only as each coin lands ties picture and value together, and because the display is built from the real parts, it must end on the true total.

When not to use it

Skip the flying coins when rewards come many times a second or while the player is busy fighting or racing. Then the effect only distracts. Let the number tick up quietly instead, or show one summary.
