The camera freezes or crawls when the story slows time for a dramatic moment

When a scene slows time or stops the world for effect, a camera move that should still play can stall with it. Here is which movements follow the slowed clock, which must not, and how to ease the clock itself.

Why this works

Some things belong to the story's clock and some to the world's. Anything that slows the world to nothing must not be the thing that stops the camera, or the dramatic moment can never play out.

When not to use it

Not needed when a game has no slow motion or pause at all, or when everything, including the camera and the menu, should freeze together, as in a hard stop for a loading screen. There a single clock is simpler and cannot get out of step.
