Keep your strategy game small enough to load on a phone and on a free host
Strategy games collect art and sound fast, and one forgotten giant picture can double the download. Here is a check that adds up what you ship by kind, compares it to a budget, and names the heaviest files so you know what to shrink first.
Why this works
One total tells you the game is too big but not what to do about it. Sorting files by kind, with a limit for each kind and for any single file, turns the problem into a task: which kind is over, and which files to shrink first.
When not to use it
Pointless for a game that only runs on your own computer, where size hardly matters. A budget also does not help when the size comes from what the game truly needs, such as long music. Then load those parts later, only when the player reaches them.
