My gun sometimes fires faster than the cooldown I asked my AI for
A weapon that shoots in bursts when it should not, for example when you hold the button right after a pause, is easy to feel and hard to prove. This helper checks the times of the shots against the cooldown and says exactly which shots came too soon.
Why this works
A game only checks the cooldown once per frame, so a cooldown that is not a whole number of frames can legitimately be a frame shorter. Allowing exactly that and nothing more separates real bugs from rounding.
When not to use it
Weapons with a charge, a burst mode or an upgrade that shortens the cooldown need their own limit per state, or the audit complains about shots that are fine.
