Estimate how fast each player reads, so skipping and boredom can be judged fairly
Slow readers look bored when they are not, and fast readers look like skippers. A single reading speed for everyone misjudges both. This entry shows how to get a stable estimate for each player from their first scenes, throwing away the stays that say nothing about reading.
Why this works
People read at very different speeds, so one speed for everybody mislabels fast and slow readers. The middle value over a person's own scenes ignores skips and absences, and with too little data an honest default beats a guess.
When not to use it
Wrong when a stay is not reading, as in voiced scenes, long animations, or players who read aloud. Keep it per anonymous session, never tied to an account. Use one rough default for all and say so.
