Find story choices where one answer is never taken, without counting timeouts

If nobody ever picks one answer, the writing behind it is wasted, and it may be the reason a choice feels fake. This entry shows how to count picks fairly, including answers that were never chosen at all, and when there are too few players to say anything.

Why this works

An answer nobody picked leaves no trace in a log, so the list of answers must come from the story itself. A timeout is not a choice, and a low share only means something once enough real picks have been made.

When not to use it

Wrong for answers meant to be rare, such as a secret or costly path, and for choices with few players. Rare can be fine if the pick feels special. If the answer is just unclear, rewrite it instead of cutting it.
