Two colors in my puzzle may look the same to colorblind players
A puzzle that depends on telling pieces apart by color can be unsolvable for a whole group of players, and the usual red against green is not even the worst pair. This entry shows a check that flags exactly the pairs that fall together, so you can add a second cue.
Why this works
Some people cannot tell apart colours that look clearly different to others, and brightness can still keep a pair apart. Checking how each pair looks after the loss of that distinction shows exactly where a second cue, like a shape, is needed.
When not to use it
It covers one common kind of colour blindness only, and the result is a computer estimate, not what a real person sees. Whatever it says, give every piece a shape or mark as well, and let someone affected try the game.
