After the victory screen, how many players really keep playing?

Clicking to continue after winning is easy; playing on is something else. If the endless part of your game matters, you need to know how many stay and for how long. This entry shows how to separate a curious click from real continued play.

Why this works

Clicking continue is easy and costs nothing, so it overstates interest. Only winners could continue, and only time actually spent playing shows real appetite. Counting the curious clicks separately keeps them from dragging the typical time down.

When not to use it

It tells little when the game ends on purpose with a story close, or when continuing is only a free sandbox that no one meant as a second game. Ask instead whether the ending felt finished and worth the effort.
