Shared experience points add up wrong when a kill is split between players
Three friends kill one monster and the reward does not divide evenly. Rounding each share quietly makes points appear or vanish, and the same player always gets the odd leftover. Here is how to split a reward so the total stays exact and the leftovers are handed out fairly.
Why this works
Points are whole things that cannot be cut, so any rule that treats every share alike will leave a remainder. Dividing first and then handing the leftovers out one by one keeps the total exact, and turning the starting seat keeps the favour from sticking to one person.
When not to use it
Skip it when rewards are not whole numbers or not shared at all, for instance when every player earns the full reward for a kill on their own. Then splitting only shrinks the prize, and each person should simply be paid in full.
