Spielerando

A group cannot agree on a difficulty and the average pleases nobody

Four players want different challenges. Averaging their votes gives a setting that none chose, and letting the loudest or the host decide feels unfair. Here is a vote that settles it fairly, handles ties and silence, and refuses a setting the weakest member cannot yet survive.

Why this works

A group setting should be one nobody can be hurt by. Choosing the most popular option, leaning to the easier one on a tie, and then holding to what the weakest member can survive, keeps the vote friendly and no one at risk.

When not to use it

Skip it when one person is in charge, such as a host who sets the rules for a private game, or when each player can choose their own difficulty. Then a vote only creates arguments; let each play at the level they like.
