Spielerando

Some builds can never kill a monster that heals itself: how do you find the line?

A weak character hits a regenerating enemy again and again and nothing happens. Nobody told the player why. This entry shows how to compute the smallest hit that works, how long a kill takes, and why the simple division gives the wrong answer.

Why this works

Healing over time is a race, and a hit that heals back before the next one lands never wins it. The line that matters is how much the monster recovers between two blows, and the usual per-second averages blur it.

When not to use it

Skip it when the monster only heals while nobody fights it, or when every build has enough burst damage to ignore the healing. Then a simple look at time to kill is enough. Also do not use it to protect a boss that is supposed to be avoided.

Say this to your AI

Use the Spielerando entry "Some builds can never kill a monster that heals itself: how do you find the line?" (read_entry rpg-monster-regeneration-damage-threshold) in my game. Build it step by step, and show me how you checked that it works.

Or skip this and connect the MCP: your AI then finds all of this by itself.Connect the MCP
