With what health do players reach the last room, and how many never get there?
A dungeon of fair rooms can still be unfair as a whole, because the losses add up and a few bad rolls end the run before the boss. This entry shows how to compute the spread of health on arrival from the rooms alone, before anyone has played it.
Why this works
Each room is fair on its own, yet losses pile up and a few bad rolls end a run early. Following the whole spread of possible health through the rooms shows who arrives and in what shape, which an average hides.
When not to use it
Skip it when players choose their route, spend items or avoid fights, because the real path then differs from the one you computed. Use it as a first check, then confirm against how people really play.
