Which dropped weapons and armour do players find but never put on?

Loot that nobody wears is wasted effort, but an item can be ignored simply because it was worse than what the player already had. This entry shows how to count only the cases where the item was really an upgrade.

Why this works

An item can only be blamed for being ignored when wearing it would have helped. If it was worse than what the player already had, ignoring it was right. Counting only the real upgrades shows which items fail at their one job.

When not to use it

Power alone misses looks, set bonuses and special effects, so an item that seems dead on paper may be loved for other reasons, or in need of a visible effect instead of a bigger number. It also says nothing about items never found; that is a drop problem, not a taste problem.
