How do I spot players grinding the same monster over and over?

Hours spent in fights do not tell you whether players are exploring or stuck in a loop. This entry shows what pattern in the fight log marks real grinding, and which small interruptions must not break the pattern.

Why this works

Grinding is a repetition, not a long time. Many fights in a row against the same kind of monster in the same place is the pattern, while resting between them is part of the loop and must not hide it. Time or total fight counts mix grinding with an honest long visit.

When not to use it

Do not treat it as a fault by default: some players enjoy it and some games are built around it. Before changing anything, check what each fight rewards. It also misses grinding that rotates through several monsters, so look at the area as well when the loop is wider.
