Spielerando

Schedule one reminder before a quest ends without waking the player at night

A reminder one hour before the deadline lands at three in the morning, or arrives after the quest is over because the quiet time pushed it back. Here is how to move it the right way, how to limit it to one a day, and when to send none.

Why this works

A reminder is only useful before the thing it warns about, so when the ideal moment is not allowed, the only safe way to move it is earlier. Later may land after the end, and a late warning is worse than none.

When not to use it

Skip it when the player never asked for reminders or has switched them off, and for goals so minor that a nudge feels like nagging. Ask once, make it easy to turn off, and let people check the deadline inside the game instead.
