Players set the phone clock forward to refill their hearts for free
Any heart timer that believes the phone's clock can be fooled in seconds. Here is a way to keep honest time between visits to the server, notice when the clock was moved, and what to do after a restart, without punishing people who travel.
Why this works
The phone's clock belongs to the player, so anything that depends on it can be bent. A counter that only runs forward and cannot be set, checked against the last word from the server, gives a time the player cannot change in their favour.
When not to use it
Skip it in a game played alone with no prizes, ranking or money, where cheating only fools the cheater. Strictness there punishes honest people on a flight or in a tunnel; trust the device clock and spend the effort elsewhere.
