Does my puzzle have one narrow solution that everybody must guess?
If every finisher ends with the same answer, the level may be a guessing game rather than a puzzle. This entry shows how to compare finished solutions fairly, including the trap that makes identical answers look different.
Why this works
Two players who reach the same final picture have found the same answer, however they got there. Comparing the picture rather than the route, and weighing how evenly answers are spread, shows whether people reason their way in or all land on one guess.
When not to use it
Do not use it on levels meant to have exactly one answer that can be worked out step by step, such as a logic grid. A single answer is right there, so check instead whether players find it without help and without long stalls.
