Spielerando

Does this level only seem harder because players meet it late in a long session?

Tired players solve more slowly, so a level that tends to appear late can look harder than it is. This entry shows how to measure the tiredness effect from the same levels and correct for it before you change anything.

Why this works

The same level takes longer for a tired player than for a fresh one. By watching the very same levels at the start and at the end of sittings, you isolate tiredness from difficulty, and can then take it out before judging any level.

When not to use it

Skip it when levels always come in one fixed order, so no level is ever seen both early and late. Then the effect cannot be measured. Shuffle a few levels between positions for a while, or compare against a version with a break built in.
