Stack floating score numbers so quick hits in one spot stay readable

When several clears happen on the same spot within a second, the little +10 numbers pile on top of each other into an unreadable smear. Placing them in neat rows is easy until some of them disappear and the rows are handed out again. Here is how to keep the order tidy.

Why this works

Numbers are read only if they do not sit on top of each other. Giving each one a fixed place to stand, and reusing a free place at once, keeps the display tidy, whereas merely counting how many are alive can send a new one onto a busy spot.

When not to use it

Do not use it when hits are so rare that numbers never meet, or when the total matters more than each hit. Then show one running total that counts up, which is calmer than many small numbers.
