Spielerando

Turn a long match into a special piece and decide which one, and where it lands

In a matching game, lining up four or five pieces crafts a special piece, and combining two specials makes something bigger. The trouble is the cases in between: a line and a crossing at once, or a special swapped with another. This entry gives each shape one clear result and makes the combination table independent of order.

Why this works

A longer or more tangled match took more skill or luck, so it should earn a bigger reward, and the order of checks makes the biggest reward always win. Placing the prize on the square the player moved keeps the eye on the result of their own move.

When not to use it

Do not add special pieces to a slow, thoughtful puzzle with a fixed move budget, where a lucky blast can solve the board and cheapen the planning. Keep plain matches there, or make special pieces rare and earned.
