Plan which customer orders share one oven run so fewer of them walk away

In a cooking game with one oven and impatient customers, cooking orders strictly one after another makes the last ones wait too long, while waiting to fill the oven makes the first ones wait too long. This entry shows the order of oven runs that serves the most people in time, and which orders will still be late.

Why this works

The oven's time is the scarce thing, and a run costs the same whether it holds one dish or several. So the most urgent guest sets the run, and sharing it with other guests wanting the same dish gives them their food earlier at no cost to the first one.

When not to use it

Do not batch when dishes differ in how they are cooked, or when a full oven makes every dish slower. Then sharing hurts the urgent guest, and it is better to run the most urgent order alone and keep the oven free.
