Spielerando

A heavy crate that needs two players but moves too fast with both

A crate meant for teamwork should not move for one player, should crawl for two pushing weakly, and should stand still when they push against each other. Adding the pushes up gets this nearly right, but two traps remain: a tie that jitters and a speed that has no ceiling. Here is the rule with a good starting weight.

Why this works

Real heavy things do not creep under a light touch, they hold still until the push is big enough. A threshold gives exactly that, and letting speed ease toward its goal makes a helper joining or leaving feel like a pull instead of a jolt.

When not to use it

Do not use it for light crates or for puzzles where one player must be enough. A threshold makes pushing feel stuck for a lone player, so use plain speed that grows with the push there.
