Spielerando

Stop a new player from inheriting the friendships of whoever left

Player three leaves, a stranger takes the free seat, and the innkeeper greets the stranger like an old friend. Here is the small stamp that tells a seat apart from the person in it, and what happens when the old player comes back.

Why this works

A seat is a place and a player is a person, and what the world remembers is about the person. Marking the seat each time someone new sits down lets old memories stop matching, while the same person returning picks up where they left off.

When not to use it

Skip it when the game ties everything to a sign-in or account from the start, since the person is then already known. Save the memories under that identity directly, which is the cleaner way and needs no seat marks.
