Spielerando

Let a player who lost connection come back to their own seat

Wi-Fi drops, a phone switches networks, a laptop sleeps for a minute. If the game removes the player at once, the team loses a member for nothing; if it waits forever, a dead seat blocks the room. Here is a waiting time that works and how the returning player proves who they are.

Why this works

A dropped connection looks the same whether the player left or just stumbled. Waiting a little, and letting only the holder of a secret return, protects honest players from bad luck without letting a stranger take their place.

When not to use it

Skip it in quick casual matches where an open seat is filled at once by someone else, or in games where waiting for a missing player holds up everyone else's evening. Then replace the player with a computer-run stand-in right away.
