Offer a gentler path after repeated defeats, once, and keep the record honest
A player who loses the same battle again and again needs a way forward, but a prompt that nags on every loss, or quietly changes the game, feels cheap. Here is a small rule that offers help at the right moment, only once, and is honest about it in the ending.
Why this works
Help works best when asked for and not forced. Offering it once, after the player has clearly struggled, respects both the frustrated and the proud, and marking the run as helped keeps later comparisons fair.
When not to use it
Wrong in a game about mastery or a shared ranking, where an easier way would cheapen the result or break fairness. Also unneeded when difficulty already adjusts itself. Then offer a hint or a practice mode, kept apart from the record.
