Show a ripple where the finger touches, even when the player taps wildly
A little ring spreading from every tap tells players the game heard them. But if every tap makes a new ring, frantic tapping fills the screen with rings and slows the phone, and a multi-finger touch can create the same ring twice. Here is a ripple that stays cheap and honest.
Why this works
Feedback should answer every touch without ever growing out of hand. Keeping each ripple as just a place and a birth moment makes it cheap, and a small fixed number of them means even a frantic player gets a clean, steady response.
When not to use it
Skip it in games where touches already show a clear result, like a drawing app, or where the effect would hide the picture beneath the finger. Let the game's own response be the feedback.
