Award level medals across several runs, but keep "perfect" for one run
A player is fast in one run, clean in another and complete in a third. Should that be perfect? Saving only the best run loses real achievements, while mixing everything makes the top medal worthless. Here is how to keep both honest.
Why this works
A medal for one goal says "you managed this once", while a perfect medal says "you managed everything together". Those are different claims, so the first may be gathered over many tries, while the second must be judged inside one single try.
When not to use it
Do not collect goals over several runs in a game of pure endurance or a single-life mode, where only one unbroken run counts. Also skip separate medals if the level has just one goal.
