The last hit takes the loot and the player who did most gets nothing
A boss falls to one huge blow after a long team fight, and the credit goes to the player who happened to strike last. Or the damage list shows more than the boss ever had. This entry shows how to share credit so it matches what really happened.
Why this works
Contribution means what you actually took away from the enemy. Anything beyond its last bit of health took nothing, so counting it rewards timing and luck instead of effort. Counting only real damage in order matches what players feel was fair.
When not to use it
Wrong when the last hit is the point, like a hunt where the finisher earns the trophy, or when loot is rolled for everyone anyway. Also wrong if healers and builders should be paid: then count their work as well.
