A shared goal loses progress when a teammate leaves
The team collects things together, someone has to leave, and the counter drops or their effort is forgotten at the reward screen. Meanwhile a latecomer gets nothing, or everything. Here is how to keep the count and the rewards fair.
Why this works
Work that was really done stays done, whoever is still in the room. Keeping a separate record of who gave what means leaving costs nobody the credit they earned, and joining late cannot buy credit that was not earned.
When not to use it
Skip it when the goal belongs to the current group only, such as a round that restarts when anyone leaves, or when the team is tiny and everybody always shares equally. A simple shared counter is enough there.
