The camera shows empty space beyond the level edge, or shakes in a small room

Near the edge of a level the view slides out and shows the void behind it. The plain fix breaks when the level is smaller than the screen or the zoom changes, because the limits depend on how much is visible. Here is the correct limit and what to do in tiny rooms.

Why this works

What matters is what the player sees, not where the camera sits. Limiting the edges of the visible area, not its middle, keeps the void out of sight at any zoom, and a small room simply gets a fixed centre.

When not to use it

Skip it when the world has no edge, such as an endless or wrapping map, or when empty space at the border is a deliberate look, like a floating island in a void. Then let the view slide freely and draw something pleasant beyond the edge.
