Do players get hit again the instant their brief protection after a hit runs out?
Short invulnerability after a hit is meant to give a chance to escape. When the next blow lands right as it ends, the chance was never real. This entry shows how to find which attacks do that.
Why this works
Brief protection after a hit only helps if the player then gets time to move. When the next hit lands the instant protection ends, the protection bought nothing, so the gap after it is what counts, not the time since the hit.
When not to use it
Wrong where chain damage is the point, such as hazards that are meant to punish staying put. Then fix the layout or the spacing of the hits, not the protection.
