Grow a plant from its roots, with a small pop when it levels up
A seedling that grows by scaling its picture seems to rise out of the ground in the middle of the pot, or sink into it. And a quick tap-tap upgrade makes the plant snap back before it grows again. Here is how to keep the roots in place and make repeated growth look continuous.
Why this works
Plants grow from the ground, so the base must stay where it is while the rest moves; scaling around the middle makes it float. The small overshoot echoes how a springy thing settles, and starting each growth from what is shown avoids a jump.
When not to use it
Skip the pop when the plant sits tightly among neighbours or the screen is crowded, because the overshoot makes it briefly bigger than its place. Use a plain smooth growth without overshoot.
